A new study from real estate brokerage Redfin found that Long Island is now the strongest seller’s housing market in the United States, standing out as one of only six major markets nationwide where sellers still hold a clear advantage over buyers. According to the report, buyers on Long Island outnumber sellers by 36.2%, creating intense competition for the limited number of homes available. While many housing markets across the country have shifted in favor of buyers, Nassau and Suffolk counties continue to experience strong demand and a shortage of inventory.
Redfin senior agent Sandra Glaser said the region’s appeal continues to drive demand, despite high home prices. “Long Island has so much to offer,” Glaser said.
